Off the High Dive

Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Yesterday, my friend Liz and I took a big leap together!  I don't know about her, but I was holding my breath and closing my eyes while we jumped in with both feet.  And just what did we do?  Well, I'm glad you asked.  We rented a booth at a local flea market!  Beginning July 1st, we'll be in business.

1. If you would have ever told me years ago that I now would have a blog and be computer savvy enough to put up pictures and videos, I would never have believed you

2. Diet Mt Dew is my beverage of choice.  (Bet that came as a big surprise, didn't it?)

3. The last time I got an iPhone was yesterday!  Finally!

4.  Making a bucket list is one of the items on my bucket list.

Summer Hodgepodge

1. Summer's here-whoohoo! What's your favorite sight, sound, AND smell associated with summer?   Sight:  fireflies twinkling in the darkness.  Sound:  kids laughing while they splash in the pool.  Smell:  freshly mowed grass.

2. Fireflies or lightning bugs...what are they called in your neck of the woods?   I've always called them lightning bugs, but few people outside the South knew what I was talking about.  Still call them lightning bugs with the grandchildren.

3. What is something from the past week that reminded you of your childhood?  Playing tag in the backyard with the grands....boy, am I old!

4. Define 'the good life'.  Family nearby, good health, enough money

5. Tell us what we'd see if you took a snapshot of your desk/work space?  My desk or the one I blog from?  My desk is usually pretty neat.  I have a nice lamp, pictures, flowers, etc.  Plus I put everything away when I'm done working.  The desk I blog from is Darrell's--he's not quite as neat as I am and that's all I'm gonna say.

6. Peaches or watermelon...yes, you have to choose.  Peaches...but they have to be soft and juicy!

7. Ever been skinny dippin'? Is that too much for the Wednesday Hodgepodge? Rest assured we won't need details...unless of course you feel you must but remember, this is a family friendly blog so keep it G rated.  Yes.  no photo available

8. Insert your own random thought here.  Found this in a book recently and loved it!

Grant me the serenity to know what I can change.  Let me change what I can.  Let me accept that which I cannot change.  Let me ignore that which I cannot change or accept.  Let me run away from that which I cannot change, accept, or ignore.  Let me lock myself in the bathroom, hold my hands over my ears, and hum about that which I cannot change, accept, ignore, or run away from.  Let me bite those who can change, accept, ignore, run!  Let me be!....

1. My closet is full of purses!  I have more now than I've ever had in my life--but I rarely change them out!  I use the same one over and over.


2. I love coming home from work after....I don't work outside the home now, but when I did it was wonderful to have supper already started.


3. In high school I was a lot more outgoing than I am now--and I didn't care as much about what other people thought.


4. I wish I had more time for/to read all the blogs I follow--and leave more comments!

Walk With Me

I mentioned the other day that I've been walking three times a week with my friend April and several of you commented about it.  So I thought I'd bring you along on our trek this morning.  Remember it's three miles.  It rained yesterday and the temps were a lot cooler.  Take a look at this sky...

We park at the end of "the lane"--aka April's driveway...

Then we start down toward the end of the road, where we turn around and walk back....

As I was driving home, I spotted someone looking at me from the bushes.  I stopped the car and was able to quickly roll down the window and snap a picture before she took off...
