Just a couple things I've put together lately. I bought this little cheese dome a while back for maybe 50 cents. Spray painted it green, then scuffed it up and put a brown glaze on it. Still needed a little sumpin' though. Out came the E6000 and a dollar store candleholder.
Add a couple of croissants from Hobby Lobby and I'm a happy girl!
I had this little wooden tray from Goodwill that I've been wondering what to do with. Found the pedestal at a thrift store, brought out the E6000 again, and voila! Just what I pictured.
Now for the $64,000 question...what is it?
Hmmm....
Daughter Lauren did this with it and I thought YES!
Here's where you come in--hence, the title of this post (In Your Humble Opinion)--what color to paint it? Black? White? Yellow? Turquoise? Pink? Purple? Mod Podge something in the bottom?
Dare I be daring or stick with the tried and true?
Hmmmmmm I'd probably go white and antique it - or maybe the same green as the cheese dome and then you'd have a set. They're precious though!
ReplyDeleteIt sort of depends on the other colors around where you're gonna use it. Me? I'd give it a base coat of white, then after it had dried VERY good I paint it flat black, then go back with sand paper and rough up the edges a bit. I love that look. That's my HO.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! My answer depends on where/how you're going to use it. If it's in the same area as the cheese dome, then I'd go with the same green. Like Donna said, make it a set. Otherwise black. But I'm not creative ... so pay no attention to my suggestion. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou clever, crafty people are annoying. Because I want to be like that but I'M NOT! JEALOUS is what I am! Go forth and be daring! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm with Donna-I like that greenish shade on the cheese dome. Do you have this piece outside? If so, definitely green.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others, if you are going to use it with the cheese dome, then green. But I do like the idea of white and then antique it. ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh paint it a really pretty greenish/bluish color, it needs some perking up.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the cheese dome. I bought one a couple of years ago at Goodwill and have never been inspired to do anything with it...until now. Thanks.
Definitely black! or antiqued white... No, definitely black. I think.
