It is hard to keep these things going.
People get too busy and the blogs get left behind while we have to do other things in "real life".
I am sure the people you mention do appreciate it.
I have tried a couple memes, Treat Yourself Thursday which was a big fail and my Writer's Challenge which the last time I did it a couple months ago had one participant.
Sigh.
