The inevitable has finally happened. I've sort of been expecting it, but hoped against hope that the day was farther off. I am beside myself with worry and don't really know what to do from here. I have several options and have sought the guidance of an expert in the matter, but haven't heard back from her yet. I'm hoping she will be able to give me the answer I truly desire and my misery will be short lived.
Oh, did you want to know what my dilemma is? All right, I'll tell you. My beloved flat iron died this morning. Isn't that the saddest thing you ever heard? And just as I was getting ready for church. About half way through my thick head of wavy hair, I realized something wasn't right. It was taking too many passes to get the kinks out. The job wasn't getting done. Luckily, I have a couple of backup flat irons, but they aren't Chis. Just cheapos from Walmart and Sally's. Don't do nearly as good a job. If you have ever used a Chi flat iron, you know what I'm talking about!
Here is a picture before straightening. You can see how desperate my situation is! The only thing that can make me feel better at this point is lots and lots of loving comments. And maybe Girl Scout cookies--if Layne's sweet baby hasn't eaten them all!

Oh no! And on a Sunday! What are you going to do?! Now's the time to chop it all off like you've wanted to do for so long. (Uh, please don't let Dad read that.)
I know how you feel...I just got my hair cut short on Friday, and on Saturday my FAVORITIST (is that a word?) hair dryer broke...imagine THAT! I had to make breakfast for 30 people in my Master's class & get ready...and you know if you ain't got a blow dryer and you let it "air dry" then all is shot to H-E-L-L-O.....ok???!!!! I went straight to Wal-Mart right after class to get another one (my last 2 were from Sally's and exactly 2 months after the warranty was up...on BOTH...they quit!!!)...My Revlons usually last for at LEAST 5-6 years! And it's working beautifully now!
Is your Chi warranty expired? They have a great one. I've also considered this dilemma. Your experience has convinced to order a preemptive Chi. For backup.
I have used Chi and I found one that works just as good without the cost and you can get it TJ Maxx. You'll know it when you see it cause it looks just like the Chi for not the price. Woman, we're in a recession and you're buying $150 Chi!!!!...HAH!! Don't get mad...just kidding...You've earned the right to buy whatever you want, but I'm trying to save you some $$$$$
The warranty has long expired, unfortunately. I plugged the flat iron in today (just in case) and IT WORKED!! For now, anyway. At least I don't feel such pressure to buy one right away!
If you want a Chi, here's a hint. Sign up for JC Penney mailings. A couple times a year they send out coupons for their salon and also $10 off any purchase over $10. I bought mine there. It was on sale for $120, then I used my $10 off plus 20% discount. I'll watch for the same sales when I get my back up. :)
I would be devastated if my flat iron bit the dust! Ok..I see in your follow up that it worked...whew!
oh good! i was wondering if you got one or not!
