My Week At A Glance 6

Cindy over at For One Another is hosting a blog hop and I'm joining in for the first time.
Hope you will, too.

The rules are simple.
1.  Write a post about your week, Anything you want! Or just link to your favorite post.
2.  Please copy and paste the Week At a Glance button to that post.
3.  Come here and  link up your post below.  Linky will be active from Saturday - Tuesday!

This week was pretty slow and boring.  It's just plain old too hot to do much outside.  Temps in the mid to high 90s every day with lots of humidity, but no rain in sight.  My daughter Holly and her son Alexander are living with us for the time being--anybody in my area who knows of a job and/or place to live, let me know ;-).  We spent one afternoon at the local library.  We have an awesome library here--never seen one like it.  The children's area is so great.  There are puzzles, books, toys, etc.  You can go and stay as long as you like--and, best of all, you don't have to be quiet!  They also have a really good summer program.

I've started walking MWF mornings with a friend.  We walk 3 miles in about an hour.  Yesterday we did it in 55 minutes!  Progress.  I've also been trying to walk in the evenings with a couple of friends from high school.  We manage 1.5 miles in a half hour.  Didn't get there this week, though.  Six in the evening is a difficult time with a 4-year-old in the house.

Our little raised garden is growing--despite the fact that we don't really know what we're doing.  Cucumbers, bush beans, and strawberries.  Not too much to mess up there.

Maters in a pot

Strawberries in a pot

Cucumbers and bush beans
 See, we really have beans!
Peaches!

Can you see our blueberry bush--I'll be making muffins before you know it!
(hint: it's the little stick to the right of the red stick--which is actually weed trimmer line)

Found Alexander a bed at a yard sale--$35

Was given this lovely piece by a friend.  Plans are to paint the bottom black like my desk and use it in my office.  Stay tuned!

I know I did more than this, but my mind is a blank.  Told you it was boring.

I don't think that is boring. You have been busy. Great job on the walking. Always take time for yourself.
I can't wait to see that piece all painted up. It is a beauty.

Not boring--just call it uneventful which can be a really good thing! That's the way my week was too. I'll join Cindy's meme tomorrow morning!

not boring at all! i love that buffet table and can't wait to see what you do with it! i think your blueberry plant may be a giner. that's about what ours looked like last year and it's nowhere to be found now. :( i bought 2 new ones this year that were already showing berries but the leaves look torched now....so sad. this wicked heat has been rough and not even summer! so glad to see you started a little garden...good job! your peaches are coming along great! if you have too many, you can send them our way. ;) i also like alexander's bed.

I hate walking alone...with a friend sure makes it much more fun :)

I love the pics of your garden. A lot of work, but so rewarding!

Thanks for linking up !

I love that sideboard - what a nice piece. Anxious to see it after you've worked your magic on it...I desperately need to get back to my exercising but am totally lacking the motivation at the moment.

Not boring at all ... sounds like it was just busy enough to be productive and yet not exhausting. ;-)

Can't wait to see what you do with that piece of furniture! Be sure to show us pictures when you're done.

You are an inspiration with all of the walking you are doing. I wish you would bottle some of your ambition and send it my way. You Go Girl!!!
