Serious Question Ahead

Serious answers needed.

For any of you who are children of divorce or are divorced yourselves...what do you call (or have the children call) the new wife or husband when they're added to the family?

ETA:  I'm referring more to children than adults.

I would just call them by their first name.

Eric's parents are divorced and remarried, and the kids call them Grandpa and Collette or Grandma and Steve. Steve would really like to be called Grandpa since he has no children of his own or grandkids(obviously), but Eric is not comfortable with that yet.

My parents are divorced and I call my step-mother by her name, Marie. But I was in my 20s by the time Dad remarried. My daughters call Dad, PawPaw and Marie, MawMaw...this completely ticked off my mother but, she holds grudges FOREVER so I didn't really care. We are all happy with everything except for my mother---and their divorce was over thirty years ago.

I called my stepmom's parents grandma and grandpa, because that is what they were to me. I loved them just as much as all my other grandparents!

Logan chose to call Jeff "dad". We didn't make him call him dad, he just did.

My daughter had just turned 2 when her dad and I divorced; he remarried within 2 weeks of our divorce, and DD called his new wife by her name. DD was 12 when DH and I married, and she's always called him by his name.

My in-laws divorced when Mark was young. They remarried when he & his brother & sister were still young. They call the 'new' parents by their first name.
Mark is also my boys stepdad and they call him by his name although they do refer to him as Dad from time to time.
